Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy)
On September 26 Typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy) hit the Philippines with extremely heavy rain falls. The little stream at the bottom of the forest farm was swelling and damaged some Papayas that were planted closely to the stream.

Guided Tour 2009
The planting of the app. 1000 forest trees was completed in June 2009. We were walking to the different sites of the farm and Gabby Mondragon is explaining which trees were planted in the area. We did a similar tour in 2008.
Richard Thomas Visit
We were very happy to have Australian artist Richard Thomas visiting our forest farm! So far he is one of the few people who has seen what we are doing with his own eyes.

Rain And Water
In July it was pouring endlessly so that we had trouble continuing our work. It was hard to cross the stream on the way to myforestfarm.
Our Accomodation at Sister Luding's House
Sister Luding has a nice house in San Josep with a guest room, where we can stay when we visit myforestfarm. It is only a few minutes away from Rodolfo Ferrer's house and 20 minutes by foot from myforestafrm.
She is a wonderful host and we always have a relaxing and fun time with her. Her home cooked food is delicious. Our favourites are Sinigang Guava and Chicken Adobo.

Vermiculture From Georgy Maragundon
Vermicast is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by earthworms. Containing water-soluble nutrients and bacteria, vermicompost is an excellent, nutrient-rich organic fertilizer and soil conditioner that we need for our vegetables and papaya.
We know Georgy Maragundon as the president of the San Josep Free Farmers Association and we are also in contact with him regarding the application for a Protected Area Community-Based Resources Management Agreement (PACBARMA) which would regulate the legal status of the land that we cultivate with myforestfarm.
