Vegetables

In September 2009 we lost many Papaya which were planted near the stream at the bottom of the farm, because of a typhoon. The soil is very fertile there and as a substitute Rodolofo Ferrer started to plant vegetables.

Cutting Kogon Grass Along The Contour Lines

Rodolfo Ferrer and his sons are regularly cutting the Kogon grass, so that the seedlings get enough sunlight and to avoid Kogon grass fires. Since the seedlings are still small it is a
cumbersome work that needs additional workers.

Commodity

Since I have started myforestfarm in 2008 I was searching for a concept to finance the project. Finally I had an idea in the summer of 2010. I created a commodity that reflects the meaning of Carbon Credits.
The pictures in the slide show are for sale through www.myforestfarm.com for 10 Euro, only.
The artistic concept is explained on the website, too.

Kogon Grass Fire Protection

During the dry season, the Kogon grass could easily start to burn. This is why we are regularly cutting the grass. But on the neighboring lots nobody is taking care of the grass and we have to protect myforestfarm from the fire. Here are some pictures how Rodolfo Ferrer was able to prevent the fire from burning myforestfarm with the help of some of his friends.

Neighbor Soil Erosion

After heavy rains, soil was eroding, near the western border of myforestfarm, on the neighboring lot. Over there, they were planting mountain rice before, but without applying methods that should prevent erosion. For example planting along the contour line of the mountain.
