The Carbon Me Story Part (1)

The idea to start my own carbon offset program originates from a dubious experience with a British carbon offset company. I contacted this company in March 2008 because I wanted to sponsor trees for a carbon dioxide sequestration project in the Philippines as a part of an art project of mine.
I received only vague information about the location of the reforestation site from the company and I could not find out how they are going to protect the forest in the future. Together with Thomas Daquioag I tried to find the referred site called Gaia's Forest Farm in Zambales with the few hints that I found on the Internet. Luckily we were able to find the place. Danny Zabala was on the ground and we interviewed him. It seemed there was no connection to the British company...
